The User can add new material category, edit existing material category and add and edit material under that category. This includes Glass, Lineal, Fitting and Labour items.
New Material Category Details
| Goods Type |
The type of material is entered here. The following types are available: a. Sheet - For Glass material b. Piece - For Fittings, other bought out items, etc. c. Lineal - For linear items like channels, sections, etc. d. Resource - Labour items which are based on time. |
| Catg.Code | A code for the category being added. Should be 5-6 letters long. |
| Display Text | The text that is meaningful explaining the category, when the category is selected in other screens. |
| Cost Based On | What is the cost for the items of this category based on? This will depend on the Goods Type. For example, for Sheet goods, this will be Area. |
| Cost Property | On which property of the materials is the cost to be calculated. For sheet goods like Glass, this can be Charged area or Actual area. |
| Default Groups | Displays the groups to which the items in this category belong. |
| Select Groups | Clicking this button brings up a window that allows you to select the groups to which items in this category belong to. |
An existing category details can be modified here. New materials under this category can be added and also the existing material details can be modified. The rate for the material can be changed and the discount band for the material can be set.
Edit Category Details

| Cost Based On | What is the cost for the items of this category based on? This will depend on the Goods Type. For example, for Sheet goods, this will be Area. |

| Default Groups | Displays the groups to which the items in this category belong. |
| Set Min Billable Qty | Click this button to set Minimum billable quantity. For More Information Click Here |
| Delete Selected Row |
This allows the user to delete selected material. NOTE : User able to delete those materials which are not used in any project. |
| List | This contains a list of materials under the category. You cannot make changes here. Clicking on the Edit button on each row will allow the user to modify the material details. |
| Add | Clicking the Add button allows the user to add materials under this category. |
